I truly love clothing & accessories. I often imagine, when staring deeply into my closet full of fairly amazing things, my future offspring looking at what I have left behind and speculating about the type of person I was before they knew me (slightly morbid I know, and probably more than a little self absorbed). But I am proud of what I have collected over the years and each item in my wardrobe is special to me. They tell a story or create a feeling that is somewhere between the person that I am and the person that I want to be.
How much better would it be for those future generations if beginning at the age of twenty-something I no longer bought clothing but only created it? More than likely they won't give a damn about it and everything will be donated to the Salvation Army.
Unfortunately when regarding my first pillowcase sorbetto top today, I noticed those little places where the bias tape didn't catch the bodice are beginning to ravel and look most unpleasant. It is a good reminder that the purpose of this entire experience is to create beautiful, lasting, garments and that precision is of the upmost importance.
