Update:

It has been far too long since anything sewing related has happened, but all that is about to change! In the near future I will be showing off my new sewing studio, some great pants patterns I bought (0.75 ea) and a few helpful tools I picked up over the last few weeks. Today though, I'd like to to exhibit some inspiration.
I'm obsessed with this combination right now! These colors/accessories/styles together create the most elegant vintage look! I am making a pair of green houndstooth pants ASAP!

Trite

When it comes to runway fashion these days, I have one thing to say: 'When you have your head up your ass all the time, you just see the same shit day after day'. You can quote me on that.

Metallic Zippers

On a more sewing related note, I just discovered these awesome Metallic Zippers on Sunday. I would love to branch out from the lapped variety into the world of exposed! They're available in gold and silver.

Terrific Tuesday

Today is my twenty-something-th birthday. Here are my sewing goals for the coming year + a recap of sewing related presents!

Goals:
1. Complete one garment/month
2. Learn and perfect collar techniques
3. Move up to intermediate and advanced patterns
4. Practice and master 6 couture techniques
5. Design & complete a vintage-inspired collection of 6 or 7 looks.

4. iPhone :) which makes blogging and photographing so much fun!

Inspiration: Green Bean Marie

I also would like to share this awesome green bean fabric! Wouldn't a 'Marie' skirt look great in this?? I don't know if I will ever get around to making or buying this, but I love the idea and it feels good to be inspired.

It will be awhile before I post more sewing progress. The time is not right and there isn't enough room. Soon though.

Cutting

I am working on my least favorite aspect of sewing today. The layout and cutting process. One day I will hire someone whose sole purpose is to do this for me but for now...

Sew Bad!

I want to sew!! There is so much to do these days that sewing is the first thing on my mind but the last thing on my list. Boo!!
I have that wool dress to make, the luxe Sorbetto to cut and sew, and 2 commissioned tops that are overdue as well as an unfinished curtain situation. Ahhh! I am going to make a strong cup of coffee...
